I am so thankful that the weekend is ahead and we will be finishing, the Lord willing, our outdoor painting project. All we have left at this time is to get the gutters back up. Oh, and I almost forgot, painting the doors which have to be left open to dry! (Ruggles and Max, y'all will have to stay in the back yard to prevent any unsupervised neighborhood wandering!) Painting the outside of our house has taken most of our free time for about a month, but it has been worth it. And I have such a wonderful helper - my dear, sweet Danny. He has done such a mammoth job. And supposedly, this Behr paint has a lifetime guarantee! HA!!
Houses take time and thoughtful effort to maintain. I have other projects ahead - like touch up on spots on the deck that Danny missed when he refinished it about a month ago. I wonder how the falling leaves will effect this! I also have an old window on which an artist has painted apples like they are sitting in a window sill. It normally hangs at the end of our front porch, but I'll need to scrape and repaint the wooden sections to prevent deterioration. And then there's the little, cheap "bistro" set that "adorns" our porch. I may have to do some research about how to get that metal finished so it has some depth to it.
Ahhh... projects for a lifetime!! Never a dull moment!

keeping brain young & learning from youth
Well, I know this is good for me to try new things. I'm glad my son is able to help. I need it!
